Meddle not in the affairs of Gundams, for you are small and go gish when stepped on.

Anon is off,
logging is off,
screening is on.

I promise, I'm not Heero, I don't shoot on sight.

Character Information
*Character Name: Duo Maxwell
*Character Canon: Gundam Wing
*Age: ~16
*Race: human
*Timeline/Pull Point: The end of the OVA Endless Waltz, just before the Gundams are destroyed. The war of AC 195 is over, Mariemaia's attempted coup has been defeated, and the pilots are ready to become civilians. I'm setting his pull point for the night before the Gundams are to be deactivated.

*History: Duo Maxwell

*Personality: Duo is fiercely loyal, and once he has put his faith behind something he is nearly impossible to dissuade. It's that dogged loyalty that got him through the war of AC 195, even after the colonies turned against the pilots. He does not really believe in a higher power, even though he wore priestly-styled garments throughout the entire war. His braid and the garb were his way of physically carrying his dead with him; another sign of his loyalty - the braid for the sister (nun) who taught him to care for his hair, and the priestly vestments and cross necklace for the father and all the orphans who died in an unwarranted attack on a church-run orphanage. With the end of the war, he no longer feels the need to wear his 'dead' (though the hair stays), because the new Queen of the Earth Sphere is actually working to help her subjects, rather than simply controlling them. His 'people' are safe; thus he is willing to destroy the Gundam he relied on.
Throughout the war, Duo was good at putting on a jovial facade in the face of just about any situation. He even made weak jokes as he and Wufei were suffocating for lack of oxygen on the moon base. More of his attempts at levity were made when he was in the presence of the other pilots, to give them something to focus on other than all of the deaths they've had a hand in. Beneath that exterior he is strongly empathic and caring young man who never got to have a 'normal childhood'. He quite possibly values human life more than the other pilots, and he went into the war in the first place knowing that if he didn't succeed, the lives of all those living on the colonies were forfeit.

*Powers/Abilities: Duo is 'just' human. Through intensive training (and the sort of survival 'training' that comes of being a street orphan) he has an enhanced immune system - seen whenever Oz tried to drug him into spilling the beans or using torture for the same goal. He is exceptionally flexible and strong for his size. He is a skilled pilot/driver of most vehicles from ground-based to shuttle to the great mobile suits of his universe. He is a skilled hacker and often used that skill to get information from bases he raided during the war. His fighting skills are primarily with projectile weapons, preferring to avoid close-in fighting where his smaller size can be used against him.

*Inventory: The only things Duo will have on him are the clothes he fell asleep in (boots, jeans, black leather jacket, underthings, red mock-turtleneck) and the Gundam - Deathscythe Hell - he fell asleep in. 'Scythe would have been stripped of all personal items before arriving, as the mobile suit was scheduled to be 'decommissioned' the next morning.
*Starting Polarity: I am open to suggestions.

Writing Samples
*First Person Sample: [Audio, presumably left on this "Heero"s voicemail]
"Heero, buddy, this may be your idea of a joke, but it's not funny. I mean, really.
"First off, I didn't think ya had a sense of humor. But this is kind of sick. How the hell did you get me AND Scythe into a VR chamber and whip up this sort of game? Do you ever sleep? I pop the hatch expecting to see Trowa and kitty-Quat waiting, and then I see this? Metal everywhere and even messier than L2's slums? What the hells?
"Augh, damned limited messages. Hey, instead of screwing with me, your buddy, why don't you make voice-mail inboxes less... oh hell, I'm hacking your damned game, this is ridiculous."

*Third Person Sample: Waking up in the pilot's couch of Deathscythe should have felt as normal as breathing after two years of fighting. Something was different this time, though, and it had the hairs on the back of his neck bristling. A quick scan of the monitors and control panels of his Gundam came back all green. "Easy, Duo. War's over." He ran his fingers over the metal of the main console before hitting the switch to open the hatch.
The view through the open hatch was definitely not the expected view of green trees and grass and his fellow pilots waiting for him. He boggled at the harsh landscape in front of him, sitting back heavily into the reinforced seat. "Whoa, buddy. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." The movie quip was from an antique 'film' that Quatre had insisted they watch while trapped at a safe-house, but felt wholly appropriate to the situation. He ordered the hatch to close and brought up Scythe's scanners, hoping that one of the guys had just managed to trick him somehow. A wrap-around projector screen, or some sort of ship-board holo-deck. Like that Star Trek thing Heero wouldn't admit to enjoying. Anything to explain why he seemingly wasn't in Sanq with the others. The scanner ping-back, unfortunately, seemed to mesh with what he'd seen through the hatch. Which either meant that someone - Heero - had tied his sensor suite into the illusion (impossible, theoretically, because he'd Heero-proofed his mecha after that damned stunt from early on). He ran a diagnostic on the sensor suite, but everything came back with exactly the readings they should have.
"Heero, if you did this I may have to consider shooting you. And if you didn't... shit. Looks like we may not be done yet after all, Scythe."
